A few days ago I shared a post titled, DIY Love, hearts & polka-dots sign.  I have prepared for you today the same DIY a second way.vday-block-supplies-03  (This post is a condensed version of the original DIY.  I have provided links at the end of this post if you would like more information about this project.)
My Supply List:  1 Chalk Blox or you could use scrap re-purposed wood., Red tissue paper with white swirls.  Red acrylic paint.  I used FolkArt Engine Red.  Modge Podge (for paper).  I knew I wanted to add sparkle to the heart and that I wanted a good glitter paint.  I chose Martha Stewart Crafts brand.  The color is called Sugar Cube.  I have been using Annie Sloan soft wax on another project so I used the Dark Wax to add an aged finish to the block.  Red & White twine to wrap my heart with a bow.

Wax coat finish
Applying the wax can be a bit scary at first. Just go for it! I found that once I put on the first coat I ended up apply more to achieve the look I wanted.
