Talented Teens Quilt – Post 2

Talented Teen QuiltsI first introduced you to Mikaela in the original post of this series, Talented Teen(s) Quilt – Post{1}.  This young leader has been extremely busy at our local and California State Fair this year.  Her hard work and dedication to showing lambs & goats has really paid off.  This young lady has brought home so many ribbons this year; I am sure we will be turning them into a quilt some day.  I couldn’t be prouder of this “Rock Star!”  Mikaela created her version of a nine patch.  The black and yellow fabric, as well as the bee represents the colors and mascot of her older brother’s high school.  He is a football player and she wanted a stadium blanket that would show her school spirit and support for her brother.

She really is having fun 🙂

Mikaela has a great eye for color and pattern placement. She really takes her time in laying out her pattern. I appreciate the fact that she know what she likes and is confident in making decisions!
