It is a quaint coffee shop, which specializes in Coffee and Tea. Acai and eats. Good vibes. They encourage all who pass by to “Journey Onward!”
Danielle at Ultreya Coffee and Tea set out these two lawn chairs in front of the cafe. There is a sweet patch of AstroTurf that is a welcoming place to hang out, have a cup of joe, enjoy the sunshine, and California’s “van life” groove.
As you will see in my video below, the chair webbing was well-loved and in need of some TLC. So with my son’s encouragement, this crafty lady saw the need to pay it forward and give the chairs a macrame makeover with a custom cafe design.

Materials For Chair
- Braided Macrame Craft Cord - 6mm 8.99
You can find this cord on Amazon and at most craft stores, although some stores have limited colors. The price listed is from Hobby Lobby online.
- Large Crochet Hook Size N or Jumbo 3.19
I found this hook at michaels.com. Use this plastic crochet hook with bulky and jumbo weight yarn.
- Macrame Chair Frame .00 to 49.99 ↑
Of course, if you find a chair bargain at your local flea market, the price is going to be considerably lower. However, if you aren't able to find a chair in need of TLC, I found several available options to buy a chair online. The chair pictured here is from Walmart.
In the video, she recommends the 19mm size crochet hooks. Honestly, I have not tried the larger hooks. The pattern book suggests two size K metal crochet hooks for 6mm cord, and that worked okay for me. However, I am going to try the S/19mm on my next project. I am curious to see if they will be easier to handle.
